I am feeling discouraged after just spending 45 minutes looking through all my posts flagged for “adult content” (more than a hundred of them) by our new masters at Tumblr and requesting a review by a human eye. What I find most frustrating is that very little of what I’ve posted actually violates the new puritanical rules. This stupid algorithm can’t tell the difference between a woman’s elbow and an exposed breast nor the difference between a man in a bathing suit and a naked man with an uncovered penis. And two men in bathing suits is not the same thing as two men having sex. I’m most offended that we’re at the mercy of an algorithm that is so sloppy, so stupid and so unable to discriminate between naked and clothed that we are all forced to tediously go through flagged content and appeal each damn photo WHEN THERE WAS NOTHING VIOLATING “COMMUNITY STANDARDS” IN THE FIRST PLACE! Obviously I’m not in the mood to post today.
